On December 9, 1896 took place the «Sarah Bernhardt Day», organized by a circle of friends and admirers of the actress who is celebrating he thirty-year career. Each guest received an illustrated album and a silver medal engraved by René Lalique. This ivory copy is probably unique. Perhaps it was executed by Lalique for his friend the painter Clairin, then official lover of the tragedian.
